If you carry a concealed weapon you need a thicker heavier belt to securely hold your piece for active carry, draw and holstering. My gun belts are two ply saddle skirting that are glued together and then stitched. They are built like tanks and built to last.

Hand carved & hand stitched belt for Eric.
This is a hand carved and hand stitched belt for a friend. Its 13 - 14 Oz. thick. Eric's name was carved using the Old English alphabet. The finish is a tan & gold metallic base coat with a dark brown rub on top. The saddle stitching was done by hand with gold waxed nylon thread. To finish it off this belt was paired up to a heavy duty antiqued brass buckle.

Horse lovers belt
This is a new belt that I just made up for a lady that loves horses. The belt is 14 - 15 Oz. thick, which is average for my belts. An easy way to see how thick my belts are... stack up 4 quarters and that's the average... This belt is a two tone beauty with a red base and black high lights.
The custom buckle and belt keeper are black with a silver pearl finish. Red saddle stitching was added to the buckle for show.

Thick leather belts
I hand pick my hides from my supplier to get the thickest and most defect free leather. Then I cut it into strips for belts. These belts are thick... depending upon the hides that are available. They average 12 - 16 Oz. in thickness. Each ounce of thickness is equal to 1/64". Most belts that you buy in a store are about 8 Oz. thick and are thin leather or "pleather" with a cardboard stiffener core. These low quality, high priced belts usually last a few months and then the big box store gets you coming back to buy another junk belt.
I use great leather, heavy duty buckles and hardware so that my belt can last you decades. Seriously, decades.
Saddle stitched by hand
These belts are saddle stitched by hand. This method of stitching is very time consuming... but it is a very strong stitch.
